Commission that has taken me waaaayyy too long to complete. An awkward dragon/human hybrid critter.
Free from midterms! (well…mostly….)
After working in InDesign for so long I needed to draw something weird and with teeth before I went mad.
I think some of my madness leaked through.
Fixed up some things from last night. Redrew the characters, because somehow proportions just flew out the window during the initial process.
Ffffffff so close to being done with this one. I’ll have more info about the project it’s for soon.
quick sneak peek at what I’ve been busy with (and one of the reasons I’ve been soooo slow on other commissions >_<;; )
Foreground characters have been turned off, but they just need to be tweaked a bit. Still have a bit of refining to do in the foreground (it’s driving me crazy), clouds, and then some overall adjustments to unify the whole thing (color adjustments, blurring). Hoping to get it done within the next few days.
Oh and snow/ice. Gotta remember that *makes mental note*
I couldn’t seem to draw anything good today, so I did a quick speedpainting to get out of my rut.
I couldn’t think of what to put under the waves. Toss me some suggestion and I may paint it in.
Here’s a slightly edited version of the Zombie Dragon. Added some color bits and tweaked the highlights/shadows. Still kind of a wonky mess but I was under a tight deadline (and the image doesn’t really matter anyway).
During critique my professor desired to name him Tommy (but another student said Emmerich. Don’t ask why they decided to name him), and then I was outted as a SEQA major (apparently we are a rare occurrence in the Graphic Design department). I then spent the next 15 minutes answering their questions on the difference between ‘comics’ and ‘graphic novels’, as well as how I went about magically creating this thing via photoshop (shock, you don’t need photos to make a picture!)
Finally my professor declared that, for a title (because he was very confused on what we call ourselves professionally. Apparently “Comic Artists”, “Sequential Artists” or even “Artist” isn’t correct). I am now a “Sequentialist”

Quick painting practice inbetween commission work (i’ve been doing mostly sketches and lines, and I felt the urge to color).
Today’s warmup doodle. A sky snake of some sorts. (I really need to work on my atmospheric perspective.)
Tumblr, why is it everytime I try to post something the first time I get a “connection error” or whatever, which basically deletes everything I just wrote when I go back? Getting real tired of your shit (and re-typing everything).
Short and sweet of what I had wrote: Thanks for all the suggestions. Have a bat-fish. More tomorrow. c:
Here have a doodle I did in class.
Meanwhile I’ve been SUPER FREAKING BUSY at work, ho geez. Thankfully Thursday + Friday are light days and Saturday+Sunday I have off x_x I love my job but jeez all the driving and odd hours gets long.
Tonight was another drink-n-draw at a local pub (watched Nosferatu and the original Phantom of The Opera). I didn’t really feel like sketching on paper, so I brought my laptop and worked on this picture a bit. Blarrgggg still a long ways to go. Critiques welcome, though please keep in mind that this is a WIP. (already know I want to fix the tongue and teeth, plus add some scales)
fyi this is my vision of Supernatural’s leviathans’ true form, splashing around in a black sea in purgatory.
Finished Commission for Powerline12 of their character Pyr.
I think I’m done with this. Well, I still have to add a background, but I’m going to wait till morning (and see if I find any mistakes then too). I was worried about the colors working together (gold skin, blue flames) but it seems to be working.
Painting progress on commission. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish this tonight. :D
Finally finished this! Commission for Rykaran.
