My current state of being for the next four days.
Today, Amazon announced the imminent launch of its newest endeavor, Kindle Worlds, a publishing platform for fanfiction. When I read the announcement, I was horrified, then angry, then sad. I want to take a moment to explain why this is such a tragedy.
While this talks about fanfiction (and I agree with OP), this discussion partly can also be applied to any creative media. Read the fine print before submitting your work to ANY platform. Who knows what they might be allowed to do with your work.
So I got that XIM add-on (cause it’s finally on Firefox, haha). Anyone else who has it feel free to add me and chat or whatever. If you are so inclined :’)
Burdens, the ebook I drew the cover for, is now for sale on Amazon!
In the long years after the world ends, elder empires struggle toward an uncertain rebirth under the shadow of the relentless demiurge Pantherion. A horse-headed man, a wizard always in need of a drink and a cast of other strange, unlikely souls struggle against the growing darkness, the machinations of a foe that can twist beasts into monsters in service of a scourge that could end all humanity.
Join Burroughs Viklund, a morose man-monster who’d rather be tending his watermelons instead of saving the world, Shaw, a somewhat-shifty magus reluctantly willing to die (and die again) for his Art, and Viday, a truly deer friend, on their journey through the spindled Island of Caiphon in an adventure laden with action, wonder, pathos, talking dogs and surprisingly effective (though certainly off-label) uses of canned goods. Lose hope for the future of humanity, while having a blast doing it!
BURDENS is Peter Trinidad’s first novel in the UGLINESS MEN series. He wishes for you to learn to suffer as he has.
The logo-less version of my variant cover for Bravest Warriors #11!
I saw this up on Boom’s website so I figured it’s ok for me to show it now.
This is the variant cover I drew for Bravest Warriors #11! :D
I was allowed to draw pretty much whatever I wanted. Somehow I ended up with the team fishing for giant space axolotls (with Danny as the bait)
I’ll post the non-logo version later (currently sitting in my other computer)
Random fanart Friday doodle.
Fun fact: I was a huuuuuge fan of Digimon as a kid. I loved Pokemon, but then Digimon came out and I was hooked. I think it was because there was that blend of both cartoony and “bad-ass” designs. Something there for everyone to like.
It was even the first show I created
cliche fan-characters for. Good times.
So I lied. I honestly tried to play Mass Effect already.
Except just as I was about to finalize my character creation (which took forever because I’m picky and honestly none of the faces are really that good looking) the game glitched on me. I could move my mouse around and menu rollover animations worked, but nothing happened when I clicked on things. At all. So I had to force-quit.
The Universe is telling my to stop and get back to work ._.
Oh I forgot to mention! Boom Studio’s Regular Show #1 hit the shelves yesterday! I colored the back-up story in this issue (which is the same short story that was in the FCBD issue I believe).
Mass Effect: Acquired! \o/
I figured what the hell. Going the the cheaper option! :P I’m actually not going to allow myself to play it until after classes+work are over (because I undoubtedly will never get anything done if I do).
But I have a feeling this is going to ruin me. 8)
@krudman: The Trilogy is available as all three games for the PS3. (it says so right on Bioware’s website)
Steam is offering Mass Effect 1+2 for only 10$ right now. I really really really want it.
However I had been eying the Trilogy set for PS3 for a while (waiting for the price to go down…). I prefer games on console, simply because it’s what I’m use to. But this PC deal is suuuuper cheap and almost a steal.
So my fellow gamers. How does the game play on PC (or console)? My computer’s got 8gb RAM and 3.60Ghz processor, with an OK graphics card, so it should be able to handle it. I’m just not use to keyboard controls :T
hey guys, go to google images and search for “atari breakout”
ohgod this is rad
